About this Stay
After staying here in January and May of 2018, I completely fell in love with the hotel and returned once again to Garden Terrace Nagasaki.
This hotel is located halfway up Mount Inasa in Nagasaki City, and the guest rooms, spread across several buildings on the spacious property, offer beautiful views of the city and Nagasaki Port.
The guest rooms, designed by architect Kengo Kuma, feature sophisticated and stylish interiors with the warmth of natural wood.
The meals and drinks are also available in great variety, and guests are free to order whatever they like, making for a truly enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Walking to the Hotel
This time, I decided to walk from Nagasaki Station to Garden Terrace. The slope was quite steep, but since I enjoy walking, it was no problem for me.
It took about one hour to reach the hotel.
Transportation by Cart
Garden Terrace Nagasaki consists of around five buildings spread across the property.
After checking in at the front desk, the staff took us by cart to the building where our room was located.
Grand Terrace
This is the “Grand Terrace,” one of the hotel buildings with the most distinctive exterior design, illuminated beautifully at dusk.
Swimming Pool
This is the swimming pool located near the lounge. Although it was January, the water was maintained in excellent condition and looked beautifully clear.
Garden (1)
There is a garden in the center of Garden Terrace Nagasaki.
The illuminated trees in the back create a beautiful atmosphere, making it a very relaxing place to spend time.

From the Terrace of the Room

I went jogging from Garden Terrace Nagasaki up to Mount Inasa, and this is the view from the observation deck at the summit.

A Wonderful Sense of Openness
This was the room where I stayed that day.
The ceiling was incredibly high, and the bed was set low to the floor, creating an amazing sense of openness. Even the curtains were impressively tall and stylish, making the stay feel truly relaxing.

There was more than enough room to store large suitcases.

This warm-colored indirect lighting behind the bed created a stylish and calming atmosphere.

I opened the lace curtains so that the outside view could be seen more clearly.
The scenery was beautiful, making the room feel even more wonderful.

The bathroom was also designed so that guests could enjoy the view of Nagasaki while relaxing.

Bright Sunlight
One of my favorite features of this hotel is the exclusive club lounge available only to guests. The spacious interior, designed by Kengo Kuma, has a stylish yet calming atmosphere. Guests can freely enjoy drinks and snacks without any additional charge.
On the day I arrived, the weather was bright, and sunlight poured in through the large windows.

I enjoyed beer, wine, and snacks at the counter inside the lounge.
It was very crowded that evening, and all the sofa tables were occupied, so I sat alone at this counter and relaxed with some drinks.

Breakfast Venue (1)
This is the restaurant where breakfast was served. It was extremely crowded that day, and all the table seats were occupied, so as a solo traveler, I was guided to a seat at the counter.

Inside the breakfast venue, there was a display titled “In 1864, Nagasaki Was One of Japan’s Leading International Cities,” featuring historical photographs of Nagasaki from the late Edo period.
