About this flight
This is a flight review of Ethiopian Airlines Business Class from Narita to Hong Kong, a journey of about four hours.
At Narita, I spent the time before departure enjoying delicious food in the ANA Lounge, as All Nippon Airways is a fellow Star Alliance member with Ethiopian Airlines.
The cabin onboard Ethiopian Airlines featured spacious and comfortable seats. I also had the opportunity to enjoy some unique inflight meals that felt distinctly Ethiopian.

Fully Flat
This is another angle of the Business Class seat.
The seat reclines fully flat, making it extremely comfortable. The flight time from Narita to Hong Kong is about four hours, but for those continuing to Addis Ababa from Hong Kong—a journey of roughly 12 more hours—this setup allows for a relaxing flight.

Amenity Kit
This is the amenity kit. On this flight, I received a yellow pouch—though green and red versions are also available, likely reflecting the three colors of the Ethiopian flag.
(Contents:) Toothbrush set, eye mask, hairbrush, earplugs, lip balm, socks, and more.
Blanket
This is the blanket provided. As of 2016, it was packaged in a plastic cover like this.
InFlight Meal

Pre-Meal Drink and Snacks
After takeoff, I was served champagne and some light snacks. The snacks appeared to be peanuts and roasted barley—an uncommon combination, likely in line with Ethiopian or broader African hospitality.

Here is the appetizer course:
- • Prosciutto

- • Shallot wrapped in a crepe
- • Sides: Green salad and garlic bread
Beverage: Champagne

Main Course ①
The main dish included:

Couscous, believed to originate in North Africa, gives this meal an Ethiopian touch.
