About this flight
I flew from Munich, Germany to Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Qatar Airways in business class. Before boarding, I took the time to thoroughly explore Munich Airport, which is known as one of the most highly regarded airports in the world.
The terminal area is flat, spacious, and easy to walk around. The airport features a beer garden run by an on-site brewery, a supermarket, and numerous hotels nearby, making it a pleasant and enjoyable area.
The business class service on Qatar Airways, considered among the best in the world, was exceptional. I enjoyed rosé champagne and rosé wine, along with Middle Eastern appetizers, a delicious beef dish, and desserts like chocolate and blueberry cake.

Around the Terminal

On this trip, I arrived in Munich today from Doha and will fly back to Doha from Munich tomorrow. Before heading to my hotel in downtown Munich, I decided to take a walk around the area near Munich Airport.
On the right is the terminal. Munich Airport is flat and spacious around the terminals, making it very easy to walk.
In the distance, I could see a rainbow.
Two Terminals and the Plaza

This is the view of Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the transparent-roofed plaza between them. It feels almost like an ordinary city.I thought about why, and I believe it’s due to the following two factors:
- ① The terminal buildings look like ordinary office buildings.
- ② The area around the terminals is flat and open.

This is the area under the canopy in front of the terminal building. The large open space makes it easy to walk around.
