About this Stay
There are five lakes adjacent to Fukui Prefecture known collectively as the Mikata Five Lakes. They are designated as part of the Wakasa Quasi-National Park and are renowned for their scenic beauty. I stayed at Hotel Suigetsuka, which stands on the shores of Lake Suigetsu, one of the Mikata Five Lakes.
The hotel is directly connected to a lakeside walkway, allowing guests to leisurely enjoy the beautiful lake views.
All of the floors inside the hotel were light blue, harmonizing with the lake and creating a fresh and pleasant atmosphere.
The meals, prepared with seasonal ingredients, were also exceptionally delicious.

Tourist Information in Mikata
This is a tourist information map that was displayed at Mikata Station.
The hotel I would be staying at is located on the shores of the Mikata Five Lakes.
I believe it takes about 30 minutes by car to get there. Looking at the map, I could already imagine the lakeside scenery. My anticipation grew even more.

On the stand below it, there is a ceramic plaque with the hotel’s name baked into it. An accompanying description explains that the ceramic piece is called “Imajo-yaki.”
Reception
This is the reception area. The floor is covered with these light blue tiles. Light blue tiles are quite unusual. They perfectly match the image of the lake. I thought it was a wonderful design choice.
The stairs and the floor chairs use soft brown tones, and I really like the contrast.

First-Floor Lobby
After walking partway up the stairs to the second floor and looking down from above, you can appreciate the design of the tiles even more. The orange color of the sofa cushions pairs beautifully with them.
Sofa Area
Another sofa space. Orange is not a color you would normally choose for sofas. I think the use of color here is truly impressive.
