About this Stay
We stayed at the Aston Waikiki Sunset Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In August 2021, during the fifth wave of COVID-19 infections, travel restrictions from the mainland United States to Hawaii had been significantly relaxed as vaccination rates in the state continued to rise.
Before checking in to the hotel, we took a walk along Waikiki Beach. Surrounded by blue skies, white sandy beaches, and lush green trees, we immersed ourselves in the beautiful scenery and enjoyed a wonderful sense of freedom.
Our hotel room was located around the 20th floor, offering panoramic views of the cityscape as well as distant mountains through the windows.

Beach Seen from the Road
Before checking into the hotel, I took a leisurely walk along Waikiki Beach.
The deep blue sky glowing in the sunlight, the ocean, and the white sandy beach—no matter where you point the camera, it looks like a postcard-perfect scene.
Just being here instantly makes you feel relaxed. Even if you are carrying heavy work stress or feeling exhausted, simply placing yourself in this environment brings mental calm. Once again, I was reminded of what a wonderful place Hawaii truly is.

A view of Waikiki Beach. During the COVID-19 pandemic, travel to Hawaii had been restricted, but at this time the restrictions were temporarily eased, and it seemed that tourists from within the United States had begun to return.

Hyatt Place
This is the Hyatt Place hotel located very close to the hotel I had booked. The deep blue sky behind the white building was so strikingly beautiful that I couldn’t resist taking this photo.

Quick Meal
This is food I brought with me from Japan.
The combination is quite something.
- • Cup noodles
- • Dorayaki (Japanese sweet pancakes)
- • Cinnamon roll
For some reason, the disposable chopsticks are from 551 Horai, a famous restaurant in Osaka.
