About this Stay
I stayed at the InterContinental Grand Yokohama Hotel. The spacious interior and comfortable guest room made for a very relaxing stay.
In May 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when the number of infections continued to rise, all of the hotel’s restaurants were closed. As a result, breakfast was served via room service.
A white tablecloth was laid over the table in the room, and once the Western-style breakfast—centered around an omelet—was fully set, it felt as though breakfast had been delivered to a noble’s bedroom. It was a rare and memorable experience.

Room Service
As this was during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and all restaurants in the hotel were closed, guests who had ordered breakfast in advance were served their meals via room service.
In the morning, a staff member from room service brought the breakfast at the requested time. Everything was carefully covered with wrap and lids.

This is the moment when the lid covering the omelet placed at the center of the table was removed.
Breakfast Laid Out on the Table
We were able to enjoy such a well-prepared and wonderful Western-style breakfast in the comfort of our room. There was a variety of delicious bread, high-quality butter, and four kinds of jam. Yogurt and salad were also included, along with a pot of coffee. It truly felt like an aristocrat enjoying a breakfast served in their private chamber—a deeply satisfying and memorable breakfast experience.
