About this flight
The KLM Royal Dutch Airlines routes from Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta and from Singapore to Jakarta are short in flight time, but they offer top-tier long-haul Business Class products and services. These routes are a delight for aviation enthusiasts.
Unfortunately, these routes were suspended after the COVID-19 pandemic, but we hope they resume soon. (Note: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines does not offer a First Class cabin.)
This is a flight review of KLM’s Business Class from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Jakarta (Indonesia).
At Kuala Lumpur International Airport, I spent time in Malaysia Airlines' Golden Lounge.
Onboard, I enjoyed a delicious meal that included chicken with curry flavor and chocolate cake, making for a very comfortable flight.
As a keepsake, I also received one of KLM’s signature Delft Blue miniature Dutch houses, which are exclusively gifted to Business Class passengers.

Delft Blue House ①

Just before landing, Delftware miniatures were distributed to Business Class passengers. With so many Delft Blue Houses visible, it must have been an irresistible sight for collectors.
Delft Blue House ②

This Delftware service is a long-standing tradition of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, dating back to the 1950s. A new model is added each year, and there are now said to be over 100 variations. Which model you receive is a surprise to look forward to when you board. There are collectors all over the world who enjoy gathering them. Each miniature house contains Dutch gin inside.
The Delft Blue House service is a unique offering not found with any other airline—one that truly captures the charm and wonder of travel. It’s a tradition I hope they continue for years to come.
