KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
Kuala Lumpur - Jakarta
Business Class Flight Report
May 2016

About this flight
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines’ short-haul routes between Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, as well as Singapore and Jakarta, may be brief in flying time, but they offer the opportunity to experience the top-tier business class products and services normally reserved for long-haul international routes. These segments are a hidden gem for aviation enthusiasts.
Unfortunately, these flights have been suspended following the COVID-19 pandemic, but hopefully, they will resume in the near future. (Note: KLM does not offer a First Class cabin.)
This is a flight review of KLM Business Class from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Jakarta (Indonesia).
At Kuala Lumpur International Airport, I used the Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge, which is operated in partnership with KLM.
On board KLM Business Class, passengers receive a delightful gift: a miniature ceramic Delft Blue House, modeled after traditional Dutch canal houses. Many travelers enjoy collecting these iconic keepsakes.

Delft Blue “House” Ornament (1)

This is one of KLM’s signature Delft Blue houses. There are many different designs, each modeled after real Dutch buildings.
Knowing you’ll receive one of these makes you want to fly with KLM again and again.
Delft Blue “House” Ornament (2)

I placed the Delft Blue house I received on the side table next to my seat and took a photo.
This unique gift is something no other airline offers—an experience that really captures the joy and romance of travel. I truly hope KLM continues this wonderful tradition.
