About this Stay
Jeju Island, South Korea. It is a resort destination full of charm, known for its diverse scenic spots created by rich natural surroundings, its beautiful beaches often referred to as the “Hawaii of Korea,” and its cuisine featuring fresh seafood such as abalone and local specialties like black pork. The number of tourists reached as many as 15 million annually in the years leading up to 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Grand Hyatt Jeju, which opened on the island in 2020, is a five-star hotel featuring twin 38-story towers, 1,600 guest rooms ranging from 65 to 260 square meters, 14 restaurants and bars, a casino, and a 4,290-square-meter outdoor deck (sky garden).
I stayed at this hotel in December 2022. The sky garden, which includes a heated pool, was a very enjoyable space. For breakfast, I dined on the top (38th) floor, enjoying spectacular views while having Korean dishes such as abalone rice bowl and spicy seafood ramen.
